Formidable enough for use in severe environments such as automotive and electric sign applications, the ASMT-SWBM-NU803 surface-mount, white LED comes in a thin, top-mount single-chip PLCC-4. The package is small enough so that two could fit on the head of a typical pencil eraser. Reportedly, its main features are long life and high brightness due to the use of InGaN dice technologies. The package is qualified to a JEDEC moisture sensitive level rating of 2A, which means the ASMT-SWBM can be kept in open air at 30°C and 60% relative humidity up to four weeks after removal from its sealed package without the need to remove absorbed moisture.
