The L8029 100W mercury-xenon lamp features a design that combines the long life of mercury-xenon lamps with the high brightness of super high-pressure mercury lamps, thereby making the L8029 a strong candidate for use in semiconductor inspection systems and fluorescence microscopes. The L8029 is reported to give twice the intensity at 248 nm of conventional mercury lamps. The lamp also boasts of greater brightness, achieved through its 0.8 mm gap length. The L8029 has a life of typically 1,000 hr. at 248 nm, due to a special cathode technology. Measuring 90 mm long and weighing 15 grams, the L8029 is small enough to be designed into thin film measurement systems, as well as other semiconductor test systems. The lamp can also be designed into water inspection systems, microscopes, and can be used in UV curing applications.
