Based on AlInGaP technology, the TLMx300x series surface-mount LEDs are said to provide exceptional brightness at a forward current of just 2 mA, performance characteristics that qualify the devices for backlighting and indicator assignments in automotive, telecomm, office equipment, entertainment systems, and a variety of battery-powered products. Members of the ultra-bright, low-current LED family include: super red devices featuring a dominant wavelength of 630 nm and typical luminous intensities from 2.5 to 12.5 mcd; orange LEDs with a 606 nm dominant wavelength and 5 to 20 mcd luminous intensity; and yellow LEDs with a 587 dominant wavelength and 4 to 20 mcd intensity. The new devices are embedded in a white EIA- and ICE-standard package measuring 2.8 mm x 3 mm x 1.65 mm. And the devices also feature a 60° angle of half-intensity and a non-diffused lens that facilitates coupling to light pipes. In quantities of 100,000 pieces, pricing is $5.50/100.
