A new RF surface mount inductor has been designed for use in the lighting industry and other applications where high voltage handling capability is required. The HL 8527 choke is specifically targeted for use in starter circuits and electronic ballasts within the lighting industry. Applications include RF signal circuitry in communications equipment, medical diagnostic equipment and industrial process control equipment. The choke can also be used in security systems, instrumentation, bar code and laboratory analysis equipment, aviation equipment, navigation equipment, telecommunications and cable TV. Inductance is ±10% from 16,000 to 55,000 μH at 79 kHz, and current rating is from 67 to 50 mA dc. The HL 8527 can also be custom designed to meet the specific requirements of an application. Price is $0.88 each in production quantities. GOWANDA ELECTRONICS, Gowanda, NY. (716) 532-2234
