Surpassing the low-light output of contemporary LED ringlights, the white-light RL-9 illuminates a 2" spot with an intensity of 55,000 lux. The company states this is nearly the brightness of direct sunlight, allowing the component to be used with higher magnification optics, while the cool nature of LED white light prevents heating of subject. This output level is achieved via high-power LED lamps and a unique heat sink. The lens design directs light from individual sources to the ringlight centerline and blends it into an even luminescent spot. The RL-9 comes with a brightness control and a current-controlled power supply. Single-unit price is $562. ORLED, Tigard, OR. (503) 968-1375.
