The SNAP, EK2100 evaluation kit reportedly provides an easy and affordable approach to evaluating the IEEE802.15.4-compliant SNAP 2.1 wireless-mesh-network protocol. The kit includes everything necessary to gain a fundamental understanding of SNAP 2.1 and immediately forms a wireless mesh network when SNAP nodes become active. A step-by-step user guide shows how to interface SNAP nodes to sensors, sound devices, and LEDs, and experiment with over-the-air programming. The kit includes Portal, an application and network administrative tool that provides an environment for writing and experimenting with application scripts, logging data, monitoring nodes, and providing the nodes with full access to a PC. Single-unit price is $149. SYNAPSE, Huntsville, AL. (877) 982-7888.
