Cranking up illumination performance, the TB62777FNG and TB62778FNG eight-channel LED drivers deliver a continuous current from 5 mA to 40 mA. The drivers support a 3.3V to 5V supply voltage range and regulate the current source through one external resistor. Current settings for the TB62778FNG are adjustable via a seven-bit serial data input. At an output voltage of 0.4V to 4V, current accuracy between channels is ±3% and ±6% between ICs. Protection features include thermal shutdown and the TB62778FNG offers output-open and output-short detection. Both devices come in lead-free SSOP16 packages measuring 4.4 mm x 5.5 mm. Prices for the TB62777FNG and TB62778FNG are $1.20 and $1.32 each/1,000, respectively. TOSHIBA AMERICA ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS INC., San Jose, CA. (949) 623-2900.
