Suitable for use in hazardous and non-hazardous environments, the EC-E circuit breakers selectively protect load circuits connected to a 24-Vdc power supply. The components combine active current limiting for short-circuit conditions and overload shutdown, ensuring that the circuit breaker responds to fault conditions faster than the power supply. They exhibit a current limitation of 1.3 to 1.8 times the rated current of the circuit protector and can switch on capacitive loads up to 20,000 µF. The EC-E series comes in three versions: EC-E1 has an N/O signal contact, EC-E4 has an N/C signal contact, and the EC-E has a reset capability and status output. All have LED indication and are rated for current ranges from 0.5A through 12A. Additionally, the breakers are rail mountable and measure 12.5-mm wide. PHOENIX CONTACT INC., Harrisburg, PA.
