LED Driver Delivers Higher Current

April 11, 2011
From voltage sources between 6V and 30V, the AL8806 buck LED driver produces a constant current up to 1.5A.

From voltage sources between 6V and 30V, the AL8806 buck LED driver produces a constant current up to 1.5A. Suiting MR16, 12V, and 24V LED lamp designs, the driver ensures a 5% average LED current accuracy for as many as nine high-power LEDs. The device comes in a small, low-thermal-impedance MSOP-8EP package and achieves an efficiency up to 98%. Maximum output current is set via a resistor and switching frequency is up to 1MHz. Price for the AL8806 is $0.55 each/1,000. DIODES INC., Dallas, TX. (972) 385-2810.
