Driver Illuminates Up to Six LED Strings

April 22, 2011
The second-generation ALD6 series multi-output dc/dc backlight LED drivers power up one-, two-, three-, or six-string configurations and provide wide-range dimming controls with resistive, analog, or PWM inputs.

The second-generation ALD6 series multi-output dc/dc backlight LED drivers power up one-, two-, three-, or six-string configurations and provide wide-range dimming controls with resistive, analog, or PWM inputs. Each of its six outputs delivers up to 50 mA of constant-current drive to LED strings in series and/or parallel. The drivers operate with an input voltage from 10.8 to 13.2 Vdc and provide an output voltage of 25 to 38 Vdc.  They are available in either DIP or SMD packages that measure about 23 mm x 21 mm. Price is $27 each/1,000 piece quantities. TDK-LAMBDA, San Diego, CA. (800) 526-2324.
