The IRS2500S PFC control IC for switch mode power supply (SMPS), LED drivers, fluorescent and HID electronic ballast applications can be configured to operate in critical conduction boost PFC or flyback configuration.

The IRS2500S PFC control IC for switch mode power supply (SMPS), LED drivers, fluorescent and HID electronic ballast applications can be configured to operate in critical conduction boost PFC or flyback configuration. It features a total harmonic distortion (THD) optimization circuit to reduce line current harmonics. Available in an SO-8 package, other features include a startup current of less than 50 µA, quiescent current of 2.5 mA, drive capability of +800 mA/-600 mA , and static and dynamic over-voltage and over-current protection. Pricing starts at $0.33 each/10,000. For more information, contact Sian Cummins at INTERNATIONAL RECTIFIER CORP., El Segundo, CA. (310) 252-7148.
