Targeting portable applications, Linear Technology’s LTC3559 integrates a standalone Li-ion/Li-polymer battery charger and two high-efficiency synchronous buck regulators. Standalone autonomous operation simplifies design, eliminating the need for an external microprocessor for charge termination. The linear battery charger can deliver up to a 950-mA charge current from a wall adapter supply, or up to a 500-mA charge current from a USB supply. The final battery float voltage is accurate to ±0.4%.

The LTC3559 is available now in a 3-mm x 3-mm x 0.75-mm QFN-16 package. Pricing starts at $2.15 each for 1000-piece quantities.
