Compact Chargers Accept USB or AC Power

Advanced Analogic Technologies’ comprehensive line of USB/AC battery-charger ICs are designed for portable systems operating off single-cell 4.2-V (4.375-V) Li-ion and Li-polymer batteries. Each of the charger ICs offer overvoltage, short-circuit and overtemperature protection. The AAT3683 adds overcurrent protection.

The AAT3681A is available in a 2 mm x 2.1 mm SC70JW package and sells for $0.81; the AAT3683 is available in a 10-pin, 2.2 mm x 2.2 mm STDFN or 16-pin QFN-33 package and sells for $0.98; and the AAT3684 is available in a 10-pin 2.2 mm x 2.2 mm STDFN package and costs $0.92. All prices are for 1000-piece quantities.
