Surge Generator Eases Benchtop And Field Testing

March 1, 2001

Claiming to be equally suitable for lab and field use, the D6000 surge generator delivers surge voltages of up to 6 kV and currents up to 3 kA. Unlike typical, more expensive surge generators that are heavy and practically immobile, this IEEE and ANSI-approved instrument is also portable. In addition to generating worst-case industry surges, the D6000 offers one-shot and endurance-mode settings, as well as a product comparison capability. Available as a three-piece test kit, the instrument costs less than $5,000.
