Multimedia Processors Expand Mobile Phone Features

Hoisting mobile phones to a higher level, the IMAGEON 2282 and 2182 multimedia processors integrate features such as camcorder functionality, video streaming, and CD-quality ring tones. Compliant with 3GPP mobile media standards, the processors are capable of operating independently of the host processor. The higher performance IMAGEON 2282 targets high mid-tier mobile phones, while the IMAGEON 2182 is positioned for the mainstream, low mid-tier segment. Both employ a programmable audio engine that supports AMR, AAC, MP3, Real Audio, WMA, and MIDI formats.
