Marquardt, Preh, and TactoTek Join ISELED Alliance

Aug. 24, 2020
ISELED technology is supported by more than 30 members in the ISELED Alliance.

Supported by more than 30 members, the ISELED Alliance is an open community with the objective of developing a comprehensive system solution for innovative automotive lighting based on ISELED technology. Recently Marquardt, Preh and TactoTek have joined the Alliance as new members. As of August 2020, the ISELED Alliance consists of (in alphabetic order): Allegro MicroSystems, Brightek, Cemm Thome, designLED, Dominant Opto Technologies, Dräxlmaier, Dr. Schneider, Elmos, Everlight, feno, Grupo Antolin, Hella, Inova Semiconductors, iSYS RTS, ITSWELL, Lightworks, Lucie Labs, Magna Lighting, Marquardt, Melexis, Microchip, novem, NXP, Osram Opto Semiconductors, Pforzheim University, Preh, Prettl Group, TactoTek, Techniplas, TE Connectivity, UG Systems, Valeo and Xingyu.

Marquardt, a family-run company founded in 1925 and based in Rietheim-Weilheim, Germany, is a leading manufacturer of electromechanical electronic switches and switching systems. Marquardt Group employs approximately 10,500 members of staff worldwide at 20 locations in four continents. The company generated 1.3 billion euros sales revenue in the fiscal year 2019.

A global automotive supplier, the Preh Group employs about 7,000 people and generated a turnover of 1.5 billion Euros in 2019. Preh was founded in Bad Neustadt a. d. Saale in 1919, and has been part of the Joyson Group since 2011. Preh’s development and manufacturing capabilities include in particular HMI systems for passenger cars and commercial vehicles as well as e-mobility control units.

Finland-based TactoTek is dedicated to developing, industrializing and commercializing injection-molded structural electronics (IMSE) technology that transforms the way electronics are designed and built. Manufacturing IMSE parts uses clean additive processes, less plastics, and reduces greenhouse gas emissions.

Various solutions focusing on the automotive market are continuously being developed by ISELED alliance members. The product range includes smart LED modules, standalone drivers/controllers, dedicated microcontrollers and development kits.

The Alliance just has finalized the specification of the 2nd generation ISELED, and the new products will feature higher color-point accuracy over the complete temperature range, and higher current classes. A further milestone is the expansion of the original local ISELED protocol to a true field bus across the automobile. This was done by the development of the ILaS bus concept (ISELED Light and Sensor network).

With ILaS not only LEDs - RGB or Infrared for example - but also other components such as Matrix LED lights, sensors and actuators can be controlled in large numbers via a simple unshielded two-wire cable. A first test chip of ILaS already is available fully proving all objectives set including the targeted high EMC robustness.

On September 3rd, 2020 the 3rd ISELED Conference in the format of a combined on-site and livestream “Workshop” will take place where the ISELED Alliance members will present all this in detail together with latest products and systems solutions around ISELED: https://www.iseled-conference.com/
