ASIMO, Honda's personal robot, makes his U.S. debut. Of course, ASIMO wants to see Vegas! (And he'll probably stop at Disneyland, too....)

Location: LVCC, Booth #N4006

Honda's newest ASIMO advanced humanoid robot makes its North American debut at the CES. For the first time outside of Japan, ASIMO will demonstrate its latest advancements and improved movement capabilites, including its purported ability to run at nearly 4 mph. Honda says it also has other new mobility and artificial intelligence capabilities.

Nicknamed the "ASIMO Type R" for its "revolutionary" ability to "run" at humanlike speeds, the newest ASIMO, Honda claims, has made several significant leaps forward from its predecessor. This ASIMO can better interact with and carry out commands given by people and can more effectively perform tasks including moving carts and carrying objects. ASIMO's development continues towards Honda's stated goal of one day producing a robot capable of assisting those who lack full mobility and of working in environments dangerous for humans.
