Operating with a random access speed of 60 ns and an 81 MHz burst frequency, the 64-Mb MT28F644W18 lays claim to being the industry's fastest 1.8V flash memory. The memory boasts of an enhanced set of performance features, such as a 4 Mb multi-partitioned architecture, clock suspend, and a fast programming algorithm to meet the demands of emerging mobile platforms. The multi-partitioned architecture allows for more partitions and supports code segmentation for varied applications. The clock suspend feature allows suspension of a burst sequence for the retrieval of data from another device on the same bus while still allowing the burst sequence to resume at a later time with zero initial access latency penalty. And the fast programming algorithm allows data-stream programming at a typical rate of 3.1 µs/word when the in-factory voltage is set to 12V. The device is organized as 4 Mb x 16 and is available in a FBGA package. MICRON TECHNOLOGY INC., Boise, ID. (208) 368-4400.
