Offered as the first in a line of 3V serial parallel interface (SPI) ferro-electric random access nonvolatile memory (FRAM) products, the FM25CL64 64 KB serial FRAM is said to be the marketÕs highest-performance SPI memory available. The device provides 3V standby and active power dissipation and is drop-in compatibility with industry standard serial EEPROMs. In terms of performance, it reads and writes continuously at 20 MHz throughout the entire memory and supports an unlimited number of read or write cycles. Supporting modes 0 and 3 operation, the device also includes a software block write protection function. Other features include 3V to 3.6V operation, a power consumption of 1µA in standby, data retention up to 10 years, and a -40ûC to +85ûC temperature range.
