Emerging as the company's next-generation non-volatile memory (NVM), NOVeA is a multi-programmable, embedded memory targeting applications requiring security and digital rights management capabilities, i.e., flash-memory cards, DVD players and recorders, set-top boxes, and RFID tags. This generation of the NVM promises significant area and power reductions over previous NOVeA releases, while retaining a standard CMOS process. Density is increased to 16 Kb, making it a viable EEPROM replacement in many applications. Similar to previous generations, NOVeA requires no additional masking, process steps, or process modifications. Additionally, the memory is reprogrammable in-system up to 100,000 times and specifies an endurance of 10 years at 125°C. Available now, pricing varies depending on process node: 180 nm, 130 nm, or 90 nm. VIRAGE LOGIC CORP., Fremont, CA. (877) 360-6690.
