The SH7216 group of 32-Bit flash MCUs features a 200-MHz superscalar core and an extensive set of peripheral and communication functions for industrial applications such as AC servos, factory automation equipment, and various types of communication apparatus. The group consists of 36 devices in 12 product groups that differ in on-chip memory capacity, package type, and with or without a floating point processing units and/or Ethernet functions. Other features include 100-MHz flash memory technology, 400 MFLOPS single and double precision floating point units, prefetch and cache techniques to deliver up to 400 DMIPS of performance while executing from flash and 480 DMIPS while executing from RAM, and 15 dedicated register banks to shorten the interrupt latency to six cycles.
