Supporting the migration from 8-bit to 32-bit microcontrollers, the LPC2130 series devices debut as cost-effective 32-bit MCUs that operate at twice the speed with up to four times the performance of existing 32-bit ARM MCUs. Five MCUs in the series, the LPC2131, LPC2132, LPC2134, LPC2136, and LPC2138 come with up to 512 KB of 128-bit wide flash memory. This allows access to 32-bit words in a single fetch, allowing the CPU to run at 60 MHz (54 MIPS) without wait-states. Each includes a real-time trace and debug capability that allows users to continuously debug a system under actual conditions. Other shared features include 3V operation, dual 8-channel a/d converters and a 10-bit d/a converter, brownout detection, and power-on reset. The LPC2131, LPC2132 and LPC2138 are available now, priced at $3.20, $3.90, and $7 each/10,000, respectively. The LPC2134 and LPC2136 will be available in the first quarter of 2005.
