Dec. 1, 2003
The FM3104, FM3116, FM3164 and FM31256 - all members of the Processor Companion family - combine from 4 to 256 Kb of nonvolatile ferroelectric random access memory (FRAM) with a real-time clock (RTC), processor supervisor, and additional peripheral

The FM3104, FM3116, FM3164 and FM31256 - all members of the Processor Companion family - combine from 4 to 256 Kb of nonvolatile ferroelectric random access memory (FRAM) with a real-time clock (RTC), processor supervisor, and additional peripheral functions. The processor supervisor features a programmable, low VDD reset, programmable watchdog timer, and a manual-reset function. Additional peripherals include a nonvolatile event counter, lockable 64-bit serial number area, and a general-purpose comparator that can be used for an early power-fail interrupt. Each device in the family operates from a 2.7V to 5.5V supply. The devices also feature a trickle charger for capacitor backup. Available in 14-pin SOIC packages, prices range from $2.04 (4 Kb) to $3.76 (256 Kb) each/10K. More details are available from RAMTRON INTERNATIONAL CORP., Colorado Springs, CO. (800) 545-3726.
