To enable smaller, reliable power designs in automotive, aerospace and industrial automation, Ansoft Corp. has come up with an integrated software package called SIMPLORER Power Suite. It combines an enhanced version of Ansoft's system simulation software SIMPLORER with modeling tool PExprt and a switch mode power supply (SMPS) library to provide a complete design environment for power system designers. Accurate models generated by PExprt allow engineers to quickly evaluate possible designs and accurately predict performance of magnetic components. This integrated suite also includes a new library of popular dc/dc converter topologies, and offers models that support different levels of analysis. The starting price for this integrated software package is $19,900.
