Power-One Inc. introduces the QTS48T38096, a 97% efficient 38-A dc-dc quarter-brick optimized for IBA bus converter applications. This industry-leading efficiency combined with a heavy-copper multi-layer circuit board provides minimal temperature derating. At 70°C ambient with only 200-LFM airflow, the QTS48T38096 delivers 34 A, useable current previously available only from much larger half-bricks.

The QTS48T38096 operates from a regulated input of 36 Vdc to 55 Vdc to provide a 5-to-1 fixed-ratio output (9.6-V output with a 48-V input) and can deliver up to 418 W with a 55-V input. The single-board open-frame QTS48T38096 also features a 0.5-in. low profile, 1500-Vdc input-to-output isolation, remote ON/OFF, no minimum load operation, and a parallel-operation option. Protection features include output overcurrent, input undervoltage lockout and input overvoltage shutdown.

Regulatory agency approvals include UL60950-1/CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 60950-1-03, TUV EN60950-1, and IEC60950-1. Pricing is $40 each in quantities of 1000. Evaluation units are usually available from stock.
