Vishay Intertechnology has extended the IHLP family of high-current inductors with a new device that offers a low ratio of DCR to µH in a compact 0.402-in. × 0.452-in. package with a 0.157-in. height profile. With DCR values down to 0.65 mΩ at 0.19 µH, ...

Vishay Intertechnology has extended the IHLP family of high-current inductors with a new device that offers a low ratio of DCR to µH in a compact 0.402-in. × 0.452-in. package with a 0.157-in. height profile. With DCR values down to 0.65 mΩ at 0.19 µH, the Vishay Dale IHLP-4040DZ-05 saves space and power in various dc-dc converter applications.

The inductor handles high transient current spikes without saturation and operates over a frequency range up to 5 MHz. Saturation current and typical DCR values for the inductor range from 40 A to 60 A and from 1.55 mΩ to 0.65 mΩ, respectively, over an inductance range of 0.56 µH to 0.19 µH. Inductance tolerance for the new device is ±20%. It features a 100% lead (Pb)-free, shielded, composite construction that reduces buzz noise to ultralow levels.

Samples and production quantities of the new IHLP-4040DZ-05 are available now. Pricing for U.S. delivery in 500-piece reels starts at $0.65 per piece for quantities of 10,000 pieces or more.
