Vishay Intertechnology has released a surface-mount, wirewound, shielded inductor that provides high reliability and enables easy surface-mounting in close proximity to other components on the assembly board. The ISC-1008 from Vishay Dale is intended for use in medium- to low-frequency resonant circuits for higher-current applications in notebooks, PCs, flash memory devices, converters and other systems. In addition to shielding that enables the manufacture of more-compact end products, the new inductor features excellent solderability and resistance to soldering heat.

The ISC-1008 inductor offers inductance values ranging from 1 µH to 1000 µH at 100 kHz with corresponding current ratings ranging from 1000 mA down to 30 mA. Standard tolerance is ±20% over this inductance range. The ISC-1008 measures 0.142 in. × 0.142 in. with a height of 0.098 in. Pricing is $0.17 each in quantities of 5000.
