PowerDsine, a provider of Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) solutions, has geographically expanded its distribution relationship to Canada with Ingram Micro, which is said to be the world's largest technology distributor. The expanded relationship is designed to support the customers in the Canadian marketplace that may need PowerDsine's PoE Midspan solutions.
"We are very pleased to be able to continue and expand upon our relationship with PowerDsine," said Martin Kalsbeek, vice president and general manager, Ingram Micro Canada. "We strive to support our solution provider customers with a broad array of products and technologies and PowerDsine's Power-over-Ethernet midspans are essential for operating application devices such as VoIP and WLAN. We think that these midspan products will provide an excellent opportunity for incremental sales."
The new distribution arrangement enables PowerDsine to broaden the geographic reach of its PoE Midspan product family while helping Canadian resellers to better deliver PoE solutions to Canadian customers.
"PowerDsine midspans provide a low-cost and reliable PoE solution that compliments our expansive IP-based converged enterprise services, such as VoIP, as well as our growing wireless LAN offerings," said Mike Knox of Bell Canada. "Bell Canada is pleased that PowerDsine and Ingram Micro expanded their relationship to the Canadian provinces, as we believe that there is a tremendous business opportunity to aggressively deliver VoIP and wireless LAN solutions to the marketplace."
Ingram Micro currently offers PowerDsine PoE Midspan solutions to resellers and enterprises customers in the United States and the United Kingdom.
