Microsites for smart meters, high-efficiency power supplies

Nov. 9, 2009
Two microsites feature utility and smart meters and no-load, ultra-low standby and remote-off mode power supplies.

A new Smart Meters Microsite focuses on energy-efficient power supplies for utility meters used in smart-grid energy networks. Smart-grid technology requires a reliable, high-efficiency power supply for supporting the networking and control electronics. The new Utility/Smart Meters microsite delivers several power supply designs that target the next generation of smart meters.

The new Ultra-low Standby Microsite describes power designs optimized to meet ultra-low standby and no-load consumption. The page provides real performance data, enabling the user to determine performance against their actual requirements rather than industry standards. The page gives power consumption and efficiency figures from zero to full load.

Both sites are by chip vendor Power Integrations.
