Electronics for hybrid-electric vehicles

Freescale Semiconductor, Austin, Tex., will collaborate with Fuji Electric Systems Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of Fuji Electric Holdings Co. Ltd., to provide insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) technology and products for hybrid electric and electric vehicles (HEV and EV). Freescale will add high-power IGBT products for electronic powertrain applications.

Freescale will offer EV-system components, including microcontrollers, analog gate drivers, battery monitoring ICs, power IGBTs and modeling/simulation tools, and software components/tools for motor-control development.

Fuji Electric provides solutions for energy and the environment.

Conference registration

Microchip Technology Inc., Chandler, Ariz., is accepting registrations for its 15th annual Worldwide MASTERs Conference taking place from Aug. 24 to 27, as well as its preconference on August 22 and 23. The event will be held at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort in Phoenix, Ariz. Microchip manufactures microcontroller and analog semiconductors.

MASTERs is an in-depth, bidirectional exchange of technical information between microchip subject-matter experts and the company's technical partners, including customers, third parties, distributor FAEs, and design partners.
