AT4 wireless has upgraded its test system RIDER to include testing for Near Field Communications (NFC), a promising wireless technology. The RIDER NFC tester caters to RFID and NFC technologies operating in the HF band (13,56 MHz). The new version is integrated into a one-box test set, and avoids the use of digital scopes or arbitrary waveform generators for measuring RF and Protocol parameters over NFC devices. It supports the ISO standards — ISO/IEC 14443 Type A & B and ISO/IEC 18092 — on which the NFC technology is based. NFC technology allows consumers to perform contactless transactions, access digital content, and connect devices on a one-touch basis. With the RIDER tester, manufacturers of RFID and NFC devices can test their products efficiently and reduce their time to market, according to a company release. "Supporting this new emerging NFC technology will allow us to complete even more our wide portfolio of test solutions for wireless technologies, especially in the mobile communication field, on which the NFC technology clearly will represent an important innovation," Angel Romero, Test Systems Product Manager at AT4 wireless, said in a statement.
