Cadence Design Systems and Mentor Graphics released an enhanced version of the source-code library and user documentation for the Open Verification Methodology (OVM), the industry's first open, interoperable SystemVerilog verification methodology. The companies made the enhancements as a result of feedback from the growing user community at the OVM World website, www.ovmworld.org. In its first month, the site gathered more than 1,700 registered users from more than 700 companies. Users can download source code and documentation form the OVM site, and participate in an online forum for sharing information, questions, ideas, and suggested improvements. Cadence and Mentor will also launch a series of worldwide activities on the new methodology. Users will be able to learn more about the OVM and its applications at the Design and Verification Conference and Exhibition (DVCon) in San Jose from Feb. 19 to 21. The companies will also sponsor free seminars over the next few months at a dozen locations in North America, Europe, and Asia, culminating in a larger OVM World event at the 2008 Design Automation Conference (DAC).
