Pioneer Magnetics (PMI) announces a standard 24.3 kW balanced line rack system using 8.1 kW, 48-V pluggable power supplies. By connecting three air-cooled units in a three-phase, 19-in. power-shelf/rack, users now have balanced individual power-line phases in addition to standard features such as protection from current overloads and over temperature. The PM36218BP-8 is offered in a 5 X 5 X 17.5-in. package, yielding a phase-balanced power-factor-corrected 24.3 kW, 19-in. rack system.

PMI’s power factor technology enables highly efficient power distribution. It also reduces the neutral currents and harmonics of the power system, resulting in lower transformer costs and a more efficient power system. Input voltage for the new power supply is 180 to 264 Vac single phase with a 48 V output. Other configurations are available upon request.

The new 8.1 kW supply and 24.3 kW balanced line rack system is an extension of PMI’s family of standard 5 X 5-in. supplies and power shelf/rack systems. Typical options include voltage and current adjustability, current sharing, variable speed fan control, and humisealing for harsh environments.
