Modular Plugs Meet Category 6 Requirements In Network Applications

Oct. 1, 1999

A patented multilevel contact configuration that increases the distance between critical pairs is what enables the firm's Category 6 modular plugs to achieve superior performance and meet proposed Category 6 values for de-embedded NEXT. The devices meet proposed EIA/TIA and IEC/ISO performance requirements. Metallic isolation bars in the connector body further reduce crosstalk and improvereturn-loss performance. The unshielded plugs use a two-piece design for fast, accurate assembly with positive positioning of cable and minimum untwisting. An enhanced wire management system makes assembly easier and faster. The units are the same size as standard RJ-45 modular connectors and will work in Category 3, 5/5e and 6 applications.
