Version 4.0 of the PIExpert power-supply design software automates the design of single- and multiple-output flyback power supplies using the company's TOPSwitch and TinySwitch families. This PC-based software now offers a more intuitive user interface, faster execution speed, and new productivity-enhancing features. The improved graphical user interface allows multiple designs to be opened simultaneously for comparison. Additionally, using autodesign, version 4.0 determines the best-fit power IC and input capacitor and provides complete transformer design details in less than a minute. Other new features include a spreadsheet calculation tool and a viewer. PIExpert is offered at no cost.
