Tool Eases Wireless Network Installations

March 1, 1999

The task of installing the firm's WaveLAN wireless local-area network (WLAN) is made easier with the release of WaveMANAGER/Client tool, a newly-integrated site monitor tool that can monitor several access points simultaneously. The tool reportedly reduces the time required to perform a site survey for determining placement of the access points, which are the base stations in a WLAN. Site Monitor can also reduce overall network installation costs-it's likely to determine that fewer access points are actually needed to cover a given area than would alternative site-survey methods. The tool can also be used to perform post-installation verification of full building coverage. WaveMANAGER/Client with Site Manager is available to existing customers as a free download at www.wavelan.com.
