SMT Battery Retainer Enables Easy Installation Of Coin Cells

Dec. 1, 2000

The company's new surface-mount, low-profile coin-cell retainer for 2450-type coin cells measures 0.23'' x 1'' x 1.385'' including mounting tabs. This low-profile retainer features a flow-hole solder tail that is said to increase joint strength and remains viewable for unreliable-joint inspection. Dual spring contacts ensure low-contact resistance and are designed to hold the cells securely enough to withstand shock and vibration. The retainers are manufactured using 0.01 nickel-plated phosphor bronze and are available in loose pieces, #3008, and on tape-and-reel, #3008TR, with 215 pieces per 13'' reel.
