LIF Sockets, Pins Handle 500A

Aug. 1, 1999

Low insertion force (LIF) sockets and mating pins for dry circuit applications up to 500A, Y Series contacts are well-suited to aerospace/military uses and commercial test, burn-in and power supplies. The Y Series serves the 0.016” to 0.650” pin diameter range with Hypertac style sockets. The hyperboloid socket basket is comprised of discrete BeCu wires angled to form a hyperboloid shape. This style contact provides insertion forces as low as 1 oz. Cycle life exceeds 100,000 insertions, and contacts exhibit immunity to shock and vibration. PCB, solder cup and threaded terminal styles are available.
