Nov. 1, 2000

Designed for CR1632 3V lithium button or coin batteries, two new battery holders protect against inverse polarity and leakage currents. The Model SMTU1632 surface-mount and HU1632 through-hole versions have nickel-plated, spring stainless steel contacts and built-in retainers that secure the battery, yet allow fast, easy replacement, according to the company. Thickness of the contacts is 10 µm. Overall dimensions for the SMT version are 27.7 mm x 16 mm x 5.35 mm.
Other characteristics include positive retention for button cells and clear separation of connections. Price of the battery holders is $0.25 in production quantities.
