Hybrid Power Conditioner Platform Readies For Blast Off

Oct. 1, 2002

Aimed at spacecraft applications, the Electronic Power Conditioner (EPC) is heralded as the industry’s first 90% efficient, all hybrid space-level power conditioner. The module converts the spacecraft’s primary bus voltage into regulated secondary output rails for the host solid-state power amplifier used in satellite communication systems. Incorporating a full-bridge topology converter with secondary synchronous rectifiers operating at 200 kHz, input voltage range is from 26V to 46V. Other input-voltage ranges are also available. Typical output power is 56W and the main output voltage can be externally set between 6V to 8V at 8.5A with secondary output voltages of 5V at 0.4A and -5V at 0.4A. Operating temperature range is from -40_C to +80_C. The module is available screened or unscreened to MIL-PRF-38534 Class K. INTERNATIONAL RECTIFIER, El Segundo, CA. (310) 252-7105.
