Plastic Shell Connectors Can Handle Tough Tasks

Feb. 1, 1999

Well-suited for use with power supplies, instrumentation and other demanding applications, the 405 Series of plastic shell connectors comes with up to 27 gold-plated contacts in an 18-mm-diameter body. All external body components are manufactured from a lightweight plastic that meets USP Class VI specs, resulting in a 60% reduction in weight compared with similar, metal-shell versions. The connectors come with integral shielding for EMI/RFI sensitive applications, and the products meet EMC 92, which helps users conform to international electromagnetic compatibility standards. These plastic circular connectors intermate with the manufacturer's metal-shell versions.
