Chip Provides Flexibility For Designers Of Ultra-High-Speed Systems

Built to provide a greater level of flexibility for designers of ultra-high-speed systems, the new SY55851 AnyGate CML (Common Mode Logic) IC can be configured as any of the nine most common two-input logic functions. The chip can be configured as an AND, NAND, OR, NOR, XOR, XNOR, Delay, Negation, or two-input multiplexer (MUX).
Operating from a wide voltage range of 2.3V to 5.7V, its outputs are guaranteed to toggle at at least 2.5 GHz. The device employs CML levels for all I/Os and is also compatible with legacy PECL and LVDS interfaces.
The device is the first member of the SuperLite family, a new type of ultra-high-speed building block that addresses the the communications market at speeds of 2.5 GHz and beyond. Unlike competing devices, which have been developed on gallium arsenide (GaAs) processes, the AnyGate is manufactured using the company's low-power ASSET bipolar process. The power reduction achieved by the process allows a Mini-SOP package to be used. Pricing for the SY55851 starts at $10.80 each/1,000. Samples are available now and production quantities are delivered from stock to eight weeks ARO.
