Using the company's new filter technology, the XDB symbolic debugger now accepts code from GCC, an open-source compiler used by the majority of Linux developers. The application has also been extended to provide operating system-level awareness for Linux and RT-Linux.
The transition package for x86 protected mode is available to GCC users. The package includes a special object filter that supports a.out, COFF, ELF with the STABS++ symbol format to convert GCC output to the company's OMF format. In addition, the package is compatible with all of the company's XDB debuggers, including those that are compatible with emulators. Transition packages have also been released for users of Microsoft, Watcom and Borland C compilers. The transition package has a base price of $1,900.
