The GT-SANmetrics performance-analysis software is designed to analyze and evaluate the characteristics of Fibre Channel-based storage area networks (SANs). The application identifies events that normally show up as degraded overall SAN performance and reveals obscured sources of performance problems such as out-of-credit conditions, lost or incomplete I/O operations, high device latency times, and device starvation. Switched-fabric, private- and public-arbitrated-loop, and point-to-point topologies operating in Class 2 or 3 are supported. Many performance measurements are also applicable to other protocols including IP, FICON, and Video. Either the company's GT Family Protocol Analyzer or any Windows-NT based computer can play host to the software. Single-user copies are selling for $9950.
