Feb. 1, 1999

Allowing the ultra-small CompactFlash package to house communications devices such as fax/modems, Ethernet cards or LAN interface cards, this CompactFlash package with I/O card kit has a 50-pin header connector, a 15-pin I/O connector, and a cable assembly. The CompactFlash card dimensions are 36 x 43 x 3.3 mm and features a proprietary, sonically-welded two-piece frame kit consisting of insert molded stainless-steel and plastic. The design is rugged and durable, and is assembled in less than 10 seconds using inexpensive assembly equipment. The two-piece case snaps together for testing prior to welding.
