PLL Synthesizers Deliver Low-Noise Performance

Aug. 1, 2000

Two series of PLL synthesizers are claimed to have the best phase-noise performance in the industry. The ADF411x family includes two series, one is a pin-compatible replacement for LMX23xx PLL devices in existing designs and the other chips are intended for new designs. The new devices feature a phase-noise of 92 dBc/Hz at 900 MHz and a channel spacing of 200 kHz. Charge pump voltage operates up to 6V, while PLL operation is at 3V. Other features include programmable charge pump current and programmable dead zone. Available in TSSOP and chip-scale packaging, pricing is $1.99 each/10,000.
