The design of systems with a mixture of technologies is possible with version 4.0 of the mixed-language simulation suite SIMPLORER. The suite includes an integrated database that manages the system's models and model libraries, providing rapid access to extensive libraries of power semiconductors, electronic components and functional blocks, including control elements, electric machines and transformers. The kernel and interfaces have been completely updated, enabling the user to simultaneously view and modify a diagram of the model and the outputs of the simulation. They also permit the data of interest to be printed or to be copied into a DTP package without reformatting the data. A symbol editor enables users to generate their own symbols, and the system's own text editor allows advanced users to program directly into the Simulator Modeling Language (SML).
