The MAX9374/MAX9374A now hold the title as the fastest members of the companyÕs LVPECL-to-LVDS (low-voltage differential signaling) translator family. The devices are single-channel translators, accept LVPECL differential signals and translate to LVDS. The differential output voltage conforms to the ANSI TIA/EIA-644 LVDS standard. Inherent low-jitter performance (1.0 ps) is well-suited for clock and data distribution in automatic test equipment, central office switches, networking switches and routers, and SONET/SDH communication applications where signal and clock integrity is critical. The MAX9374 is designed for low-voltage operation from a 2.375V to 2.625V power supply for use in 2.5V systems, whereas the MAX9374A is designed for 3.0V to 3.6V operation in systems with a nominal 3.3V supply. Output differential voltage is greater than 250 mV at 1.0 GHz and is specified over the -40¡C to +85¡C extended temperature range. Both devices are available in 8-pin SO and SOT23 packages. The thermally enhanced 8-pin SOT23 package offers a 70% size reduction over the industry-standard SO. Prices start at $4.87/1,000. MAXIM INTEGRATED CIRCUITS INC., Sunnyvale, CA. (800)-998-8800.
