Superb 24-bit, 96-kHz performance is said to be available at low cost in the AK5353, a stereo a/d converter. The device consumes just 36 mW typical at 3V or 70 mW at 5V. It’s packaged in a small 16-pin TSSOP that measures about 5 mm x 5 mm.Developed using the firm’s proprietary enhanced dual-bit, sigma-delta technology, the converter is designed for applications such as digital recording, voice input and control devices and electronic instruments. It’s also flexible: It offers sampling rates of 4 kHz to 96 kHz; operation from 2.7V to 5.5V (4.5V to 5.5V for 96-kHz sampling); a 256-fs, 384-fs, or 512-fs master clock, and single-ended input.
