Cabinets Use Chimney Effect To Keep Networking Equipment Cool

Nov. 1, 2001

Economical housing is said to be provided for networking and datacomm equipment by a line of cabinets that have vented top and bottom panels combined with a louvered rear door. This approach creates a chimney effect whereby cold air is drawn through the bottom of the cabinet and hot air is exhausted through the top. Models for 19" and 23" equipment are available, with both models providing 46 rack units. Other features include removable doors and side panels with rounded corners, pre-cut fan openings, and two rear-entry ports with grommets. For more details, call HOFFMAN, Anoka, MN. (800) 355-3560.
